GOLF COMBO'S RETURN FOR ANOTHER SEASON

discovergolf_200.gifThe Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club, Cooke Municipal Golf Course, and Mandolin's Restaraunt again are excited to offer combo's for the up coming golf season. These combo's are designed to offer a discount to the general public and to the citizens of Prince Albert so people can "Discover Golf" and enjoy some time with friends, and family.

Back again this year is the Adult / Junior golf combo. You can spend some quality time with your family and enjoy the great game of golf. Included in this package is green fees, cart, range, and $25.00 restaraunt dollars.

New this year is the Adult / Adult combo. Enjoy the great game of golf with friends, family, and co-workers. Included in this is green fees, cart, range , and $25.00 lounge dollars. Take a break from a busy life and enjoy the beauty of the golf course, after your round relax and enjoy the view while you enjoy a beverage on the deck.

Both combo's are available Monday and Thursday starting at 5:00 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday starting at 2:00 P.M. You must phone the pro shop at 763-2502 to make a tee time.

PRINCE ALBERT'S DAVID STEWART AND UBC TEAM CAPTURE NAIA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club member along with his University of British Columbia golf team captured the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics men's golf championships last week. UBC is only one of five Canadian teams that compete in the NAIA. This was the first time that a Candian school has one the championships. The top four players on the team finished in the top 10. David finished in 10th place. Dave shot a 2 under 70 in Friday's last round to lead his team to the Championships, which was tied for the best round of the day.

Last year David and father and PAGCC member Ron were members of the Saskatchewan team that competed at the Canadian men's amateur golf championships.

Congratulations to Dave from the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club on your National Championships!!! Way to go!!!

 
LADIES NORTHERN TAKING ENTRIES

The annual Ladies Northern Golf tournament is still taking entries for this years event. The tournament takes place May 31st and June 1st. The event is a 36 hole stroke play event. The $90 entry fee includes your green fees, a Friday night social, a Saturday night banquet, and great prizes. There is also a horserace Saturday afternoon for a cost of $10. You can enter by phoning Margo Maruschak at 763 - 9370. All entries must be in by May 26th.
 
TRAVIS JENKINS WINS JUNIOR MAY DAY

The annual Junior May Day wrapped up on Sunday, May 18th. Travis Jenkins won the event by shooting a two round total of 146, good for a 8 shot victory over Danny Klughart who was 154. Finishing third in the Championship flight was Jon Kushneriuk at 155.

Congratulation to all the winners and organizers!!! Next up for the Junior Golf Club is the Harolds IGA Adult / Junior on June 14th.

CAM BERGEN WINS THE ANNUAL MAYDAY MASTERS

The annual men's club May Day Masters golf tournament wrapped up on Monday at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course. The tournament had 76 entries take part in this year's event.

Cam Bergen won the championship by shooting a three round total of 210, three under par. Cam fired rounds of 68 on Saturday and Sunday and finished with a 74, some great playing. Finishing second in the championship flight was Martin Ring at 215, and finishing third was Randy Miller at 217.

Congratulations to all the flight winners and to the organizers.  Next up for the men's golf club is the two man better ball on June 15th.

MAYDAY MASTERS AND JUNIOR MAYDAY SET TO START MAY 17TH

The annual Men's club event, the Mayday Masters is set to start on Saturday May 17th. The event is a anuual event to kick off the men's golf club tournament schedule. The event is a 54 hole medal play with the final round on Monday, May 19th. Saturday and Sunday's rounds are qualifying rounds where the competitors will then be flighted. The tournament features a supper on Saturday night. Entry fee for the tournament is $50 + green fees for non season pass holders.

Also included this weekend is the annual Junior Mayday. This event is for junior golfers and is a 36 hole medal play event. The entry for this event is $10 + green fees for non season pass holders.

2nd ANNUAL JUTRAS CHALLENGE TAKES TO THE TEE MAY 15TH

The 2nd annual Jutras family challenge takes to the golf course on Thursday May 15th. The event is a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society and is in memory of the wife of Danny Jutras, Wendy and his father Pierre. Last years innagural event was a huge success. The event is a shotgun start format scheduled to tee off at 12:30. There will be a supper & prizes at the Art Hauser Centre followed by the entertainment of the descendants of Margo Fournier.

Entry for the event is $135 per golfer, this includes golf, cart, supper, prizes and a $50 tax donation reciept. Extra meal tickets are $25.00 for each golfer or $35.00 for a non golfer, this includes a $10 tax donation reciept. You can entry in the pro shop by calling 763-2502.
