2008 PRO - AM WRAPS UP ON SUNDAY PDF Print E-mail

The 2008 edition of the Cooke Municipal Golf Course Pro - Am wrapped up on Sunday July 20th. The event started with a horserace on Saturday afternoon. The team of Pierre Vezeau and John Foster captured the horserace by defeating the team of David Cantin and Kevin Paproski on the last hole. Finishing third was the team of David Stewart and John Wessel.

On Sunday, the golf began. There were 16 teams of five competing in this years event. The format is a 5 person scramble. There was a first place tie for first with a score of 14 under par.  After a chip off, the winning team was the Ken Morrow team consiting of Dave Heppner, Danny Zich, Ron Wilaon and John Wessel. Finishing in second with the same score was the Dennis Vezeau team consiting of John Foster, Kent Jones, Joel Longworth and Dave Albright.  Here are the rest of the top teams from this years event:

3rd Place = Martin Ring, Brian Ball, Brad Fenning, Jess Merideth, Neil Cantin

4th Place = Rick Fries, Tom Wormworth, Bill Miller, John Andursek, Chris Knudsen

5th Place = Ryan Danberg, Blair Gervais, Gavin Jutras, Laurrie Unruch, Les Diakow

6th Place = Ryan Silverthorne, Kelly Timmerman, Vic Lemieux, Luc April, Pat Longworth

7th Place = Gord Brown, Pieere Vezeau, Don Anderson, Mike Stamand, Rick Schultz

8th Place = Bruce Ede, Fred Mathiason, Jim Bristowe, Mike Mayer, Tim Longworth

Ken Morrow, the President of the CPGA of Saskatchewan announced that the CPGA Saskatchewan Championship will be held at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course the Monday after next years Pro - Am. With this tournament the top Pro's come out and this will only enhance the Pro - Am. Also for next year the CPGA Championship and the Pro - Am will be linked with the 100th Annivesary of the Cooke Municiapal Golf Course. The event will be extra special. Will see ya next year!!!
