David Stewart of Cooke Municipal Golf Course recently competed at the 2008 National Men's Amateur Championships, which wrapped up on Thursday, August 14th at the Paradyse Canyon Golf Resort in Lethbridge, AB.

David, who works in the pro shop at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course was the only Saskatchewan player to make the 36 hole cut at the tournament. This was the first year of the championships going to a 72 hole stroke play event rather than a match play format for the top 64 golfers after 36 holes of qualifying.

David had rounds of 78 and 69 on the first two days. Dave then went on to have rounds of 71 and a sizziling 66 on the last day, low round of the day. With a four round score of even par 284, Dave finished in a tie for 14th place. What a great showing!!!

On behalf of the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club, Congratulations Dave on a job well done.!!!!
