Prince Albert will be well represented at the RCGA Canadian Men's Amateur Championship at the Riverside Golf and Country Club in Saskatoon in late August.

Ron Stewart captured his third Amateur title in 30 years. Ron won his third on Friday holding off Luke Sheard of Saskatoon and son Dave. Ron won his first title in 1977, his second in 1987 and now in 2007. Way to go Ron on great playing all week. Joining Ron on the Saskatchewan Amateur team is Luke Sheard of Saskatoon, son David of Cooke Municipal and Tyler Frank of Saskatoon. The alternate is Torrie Coghlin.

Cooke Municiapl Golf Course played tough all week and it showed in the scores. Ron won with a 4 day total of 287 which is 7 over par. There was only two rounds under par all week. The long and thick rough along with fast and hard greens with some tough pins had the players frustrated and it showed how a short course can play tough.  A lot of credit should go to Pierre and of his crew for having the course in great shape.
